[F]FAQ

Questions, answered.

How is usage measured?

Usage is counted per page of input. A page that's parsed, recognized, and laid out counts once; structured extraction is billed as an add-on on top of parsing.

Is there really a free tier?

Yes. Every account starts with a monthly allotment of free pages and full access to the playground, so you can measure quality before you spend anything.

Can I run Docen in my own environment?

Yes. Scale and self-hosted plans can run inside your VPC or fully on-prem, including air-gapped setups, with the same models and outputs as the managed API.

What happens to my documents?

By default your documents are used only to produce your results. See the data use policy for the full details on retention and handling.

Which formats do I get back?

Clean Markdown, HTML, JSON, and JSONL, plus word-level bounding boxes and confidence scores on every result.
